A successful dairy team requires establishing relationships with people from diverse cultural backgrounds working together towards a common goal. Diversity in the workplace can create a positive working environment, but it can also present unique challenges that could lead to ethnic divisions, decreased collaboration,  misunderstandings and distractions from the goals. Recognizing diversity, understanding key broad and individual cultural differences and learning ways to leverage differences to find common ground will improve communication, quality of work and efficiency, promote cooperation and transform the team.
