Dairywomen and men throughout the industry will have access to register for our mini series to learn more about the conditions that affect a person’s thinking, feeling or mood. We will have conversations on how to relate to others and help them to function daily. We know that everyone is unique, and we want to focus on those individual experiences, yet share ways to find help and resources to not only overcome but to grow and live.

$10 registration cost (DGN programming and development fee) covers ALL 3 webinars, both live and recorded. Registration is open to the industry and all are welcome. Login instructions will be provided by email prior to each webinar.

National Holstein Convention DGN Luncheon4

Will you be at the National Holstein Convention in Appleton, WI on June 27th? Join Dairy Girl Network for lunch and a great presentation on team building.

This event is open to everyone. Thursday’s luncheon will bring both men and women together to learn and share ideas about building positive and inclusive teams on our farms and beyond. The luncheon’s featured speaker will be Galen Emanuele.

Galen’s dynamic keynote will profoundly impact the way you communicate, show up and contribute to your team. Through simple, skill-building activities, Galen will teach you how to create a cohesive “Yes, And” culture to skyrocket team performance and engagement, build inclusive teams and foster conversations that truly value diversity of experience and thought. You will laugh and learn while coming away with new, powerful tools to enhance your leadership abilities, self awareness, emotional intelligence, and capacity to drive exceptional culture within your organization.

Event ticket price is $15 and includes lunch. Join us during the National Holstein Convention in Appleton, Wisconsin on June 27th, 2019 at from 12:00 to 1:20 p.m. Please note registration ends on June 1st!

Did you know that planting is the most critical time to establish a successful corn silage crop? Tune into this month’s webinar, presented by Jon Erickson, Mycogen Seeds Commercial Agronomist, to learn more about ways that you can improve the yield and quality of your corn silage crop by preparing for planting. Plus, get some tips on how to scout your fields early in the growing season to identify issues before they start. Remember: you only get one chance to plant your fields, this program is designed to help you learn how to do it the right way.

This event is for all women involved with any part of dairy – whether as a calf feeder, dairy owner, marketing or sales consultant servicing dairy farms or cheese producers, veterinarians, researchers, etc. If there is a dairy cow involved in what you do, you’re invited!

Join other dairywomen to unwind and talk about your lives involving dairy farming.  Come learn more about the fast growing Dairy Girl Network and programs available to you!

Dairy Girl Network is Looking to Add a Veterinarian to it’s Advisors

Nominate a veterinarian HERE.

The Dairy Girl Network Board of Directors includes elected representatives serving as dairy farmers and industry professionals as well as advisory members of the DGN Board of Directors. The Dairy Girl Network Board of Directors oversees the overall execution of the organization’s mission, while the advisory members provides their expertise in specific areas. We are looking for a veterinarian, whether practicing or industry, to join this team! This position is open to males and females.

The advisory members cannot vote in decisions but are on the Board to provide their opinions and perspectives. These individuals provide expertise in specific areas that are not represented on the Board and must be dependable and accessible if needed.

Terms are set for three years and each individual can serve three terms. Advisory members are to attend one in-person meeting per year, as well as conference calls once a month, be active in conversations, and serve as part of board committees. Periodically the Board will hold additional meetings or planning sessions.

In true Dairy Girl style, we ask that you nominate a qualified veterinarian for our one open advisory member position. Individuals can nominate another person, but we do ask that no self-nominations be made. Please nominate a veterinarian HERE. Nominations will close April 8th.

New this year! DGN will be offering a Family Lounge at the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin Annual Business Conference! 

This space will be located in the Kegonsa room on the second floor of Exhibition Hall during the conference on March 13-14th, 2019.

This space is perfect for families with small children to rest and recharge in a quiet space. Comfortable and private nursing and pumping space will be available to new moms.

Spanish 101 and 201 Courses Now Enrolling

Spanish on la Granja (on the farm) 101 and 201 courses now enrolling!

DGN’s Spanish On la Granja courses are virtual 8-week courses tailored to aiding in Spanish speaking on the dairy farm!

All Courses Include:

  • An 8-week condensed course (total of 16 lessons)
  • Two weekly one-hour live but recorded video lessons accessible when convenient for you!
  • “Live” classes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • The ability to schedule one-on-one calls/video chats with the instructor weekly for additional help
  • Access to helpful links, games and more for reinforcement
  • Ease of completing course assignments through the DGN website
  • Certificate for course completion

Registration will be open until March 16th. Classes may fill up before this deadline. All courses will be open to only DGN members until March 11th, then will open up to the public!
