SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — More than 170 women involved in the dairy industry gathered to take time out of their lives to focus on becoming better managers, building their circles and celebrating their farm and family life.
They came together as part of Central Plains Dairy Association and Dairy Girl Network’s Dairy Women’s Conference, held Nov. 10 and 11 at the Best Western Ramkota in Sioux Falls.
“Women want to come together; they want to connect,” said Laura Daniels, co-founder and co-president of Dairy Girl Network and owner of Heartwood Farm in Cobb, Wis., in her opening keynote address.
Dairy women from across the Upper Midwest heard from fellow farmers and industry experts about working smarter with farm teams, trends in the dairy world and how to balance family and farm. The women were encouraged to network through social times, interactive workshops and sessions focused on building meaningful mentorships.
